Rafael Adón's paternal uncle, Jesús Córdova, was a US Army veteran and police chief in the small, dusty town of Blythe, California where Rafael was born and raised. "Tío Katúss" (Tío Jesús) as Rafael called him at age 3, was like a second father to him. Given the Córdovas' indigenous Yaqui and Chemehuevi provenance, the name "Chief" was the moniker by which Tío Jesús was known throughout the late 60's and early 70's. Rafael sourced the poured aluminum sculpture in a Santa Barbara antique store, and it became the inspiration for this breath-taking bag. The bag is 'stitched' with nickel hardware, with the Native American sculpture taking front stage, center. The solid leather handles are reassuring to grasp. A deep internally-stitched pocket will hold your goods with ease. The bag closes by a swivel-snap clasp behind each of the handles.
